Pastel: Tropical Punch
The pastel group at WetCanvas! hosts numerous group activities. This month’s Pastel Strokes reference photo came from a member in Trinidad. This is my interpretation of the photo:
Tropical Punch
Soft Pastel, 9×12
I thought by using reddish-oranges and pinks for the sky, I could balance the overwhelming greens from the photo. I think they punched it up instead of toning it down, hence the title of the piece. Very little blending was done, leaving individual strokes of pastel quite visible.
