Soft Pastel: At the Beach
It’s so dreary today, I decided to spend the day at the beach. First, I did a rough block-in from a photo I took in Ocean City, NJ:
Then I added some softer blues to the sky and the sand, and located some tufts of beach grass:
Cool blues were used for the clouds. Soft golds, creams and beiges were applied over the sand, and the beach grass further refined.

I may add a little more beach grass to the foreground before signing this, but otherwise it’s complete. I hope you’ve enjoyed your day at the beach.
