Book Reviews: Photography

Great photographs seldom happen by themselves, and artists often use reference photos to compose a painting. Starting with a photo that has crisp colors and a pleasing composition make creating the artwork that much easier.

On occasion, the artist may have need for slides or printed images. Juried shows, galleries, and artist associations often ask for this material. Hiring a professional photographer to create your slides or prints is the ideal solution, but may not be an option.

Eventually, I’m going to need slides of my artwork. I could also use some advice on photography. Being a bookworm of sorts, I found some titles that looked fruitful and proceeded to devour them. A link has been added to the sidebar under Book Reviews.

I decided to add some more beach grass to yesterday’s little demo piece. There just wasn’t enough interest in the foreground.

I also remembered to sign it. ;)

This one is really lovely, Lisa. I can feel the warmth of the sand and hear the swhish of the waves in the distance. And it printed out beautifully!
