Market Scene, still in progress
I’m still working on the market scene today. I brushed out some places I didn’t like, and I still don’t like what I’ve done to the man’s face. I added the woman’s other arm, too! It was missing in that first picture- oops.
This is the most complicated piece I’ve ever done, but I’m pretty happy with it so far. I’ll be a lot happier if I can get Mr. Seed-Seller looking a bit more like his wife, and not so much like a merchant zombie. Those eyes! Eeeeeewww!
What am I learning from this piece? Get more background complete before starting the foreground. There’s still paper showing through in places, and I’ve hardly addressed the far right side of this composition!
