Workshop: Plate and Background
Dianna’s remaining instructions have been posted, and the workshop is coming to an end. The piece is almost done, and when the charcoal pencils I’ve ordered arrive, I’ll finish the pattern on the tablecloth and edges of the plate.
It’s so hard to not finish this with white pastel pencil, but Dianna has good reasons for using the charcoal pencils, and I don’t want to have to fight with materials when I’m this close to completion.

Don’t worry, you’ll get to see the finished version, but probably not ’til next week.

Lisa - You could call it finished as it is! Lovely work and yes it has been a great workshop and lots of fun. Thank you also for your links to Pastel Demos - they will be a great help to me, finding my way with this new medium.
I am so delighted you like the pastels enough to continue using them! I’ll enjoy peeking in on your sketchbook. Enjoy the demos, and have fun with your new pastels.
Gorgeous painting! I love the texture of the pastels, although I don’t use them. You’ve obviously mastered their mysteries. Nice blog!
Cheers!
Thanks Nicole! I had an awesome instructor for the workshop. Dianna’s the pastel master; I’m just an apprentice.
Lisa,
You did a great job with this one! I watched Dianna’s demos, and yours stands out as one of the best.
