Pastel: Dianna’s Treat
I think today’s headline says it all. The General’s white charcoal arrived, and I’ve finally finished the WetCanvas workshop.
Dianna’s last step was to sign the finished piece. My signature often appears rather sloppy, so I incorporated my initials into the tablecloth design under the dish.

Dianna’s Treat
Soft Pastel, 9×12
Licorice Allsorts are one of Dianna’s favorite treats. The free workshop was her treat to me. Thank you, Dianna.

This turned out wonderfully! I especially like the shinyness of the dish. No matter how good it turned out, though, I still can’t be convinced to eat licorice!
An excellent pastel piece!
Thank you, Rita! The charcoal pencils make an excellent addition to the pastel toy box, and are responsible for the clean edges of the dish and opaque effect of the pattern. Neat stuff, and not very expensive.
Now I want a candy dish, and anything other than licorice. Ugh! That stuff is nasty- maybe some fine chocolates will help me get over the trauma of spending so much time on something that tastes soooo bad.
Congratulations on this result. I really like it!
Thanks Casey! It was fun learning along with a group, and I’m really pleased with the results. I should start a calorie gallery.
