Lucky Friday
Happy Friday everybody, and if you hadn’t already noticed, it’s also the 13th. Have you ever wondered why some folks think this day is unlucky? I have, and found some trivia about it at FactMonster.
I started a new pastel today. Here’s a partial block-in:

Yes, it’s a still life.
No, they’re not apples…
… and they’re not tomatoes either.
Okay, here’s the next stage:
Can you tell what it is yet? Well, if you guessed oranges, you’re… WRONG!

Love the reds and oranges in this!
I am curious to know what they are though. From the first picture I thought beets and then in the second one I though persimmons…but neither of those seems right. Whatever they happen to be you’ve got a great image going here, can’t wait to see the outcome!
Those are good guesses. I thought they looked like pomegranates. (they’re not) Hint: they’re good fried.
