I Hate Landscapes

I hate landscapes. I don’t know if I hate them because they always turn out awful, or if they always turn out awful because I hate doing them. It’s got to be one or the other, because I certainly enjoy looking at them. However, the next image is an exception to that statement.

Mom's Waterfall, step 4

Gosh, and I’d always heard Yosemite was such a beautiful place. Here’s some pictures so you can see what the place really looks like.

Continuing on, here’s where we’ve ended up today:

Mom's Waterfall, step 5

Someday I’m going to do an incredibly beautiful landscape. Really, I promise.

Lisa you are being far too hard on yourself. :D

You have a lot of movement happening in this painting with lovely complementary colours. It is an excellent painting considering the limited palette that you have used.

Susan you are so sweet. I really appreciate the words of encouragement. Someday I hope my landscapes look like yours. (Hmmm, no little clappie guy with Wordpress?)

I haven’t quite given it up for dead yet, but I think it may end up as the featured pastel in a post about how to recycle Wallis paper. :D
