Monday Murmurs
Happy Monday, readers. Daisy was right when she reported that I was working on a book review, but before it’s posted the site will be going through another overhaul. I don’t want to rely on the blog application to manage the book reviews, and I don’t need two “about” pages. Those will be moving to the website.
I found a nifty free website template at FreeCssTemplates.com and a new one for the Wordpress application (blog). The blog doesn’t show up at all in IE 7, and is iffy if you’re using IE 6. Since I’m weary of tesing the same code in 30 different browsers and their available versions, I’m going to let someone else do all that testing for a change. Even if I still used Windows, I’d have to download and install several versions of IE just to test for incompatibilities in that one browser. Doesn’t that sound like an application error just waiting to happen?

Our snowball bush got a good pruning last year, and is covered with blooms this year. They’re so white they hurt my eyes to look at them.
The leafy green stuff behind those closest azales aren’t weeds- it’s rhubarb.

This is the view across the side yard taken from the back corner of the house. See that little garden in the middle of the yard? A big pine tree used to live there, but it was tilting so badly we had to cut it down. It’s been bare and ugly since then, and this year we finally transplanted some azaleas that weren’t happy where they were.

The gardener was out and about yesterday, and started cleaning up our little garden on the side of the house. It was full of old roots and ivy, but it’s much better now.

We have some Siberian Iris that need to be moved, and they’ll be moving in shortly, as will some white carnations. The taller shrubs are crepe myrtle. Left side is red, right side is white. It blooms from June through frost, so we’ll have a little color in the yard over those hot summer months.
The backyard will eventually be fenced, so I don’t have to worry about little patter-paws digging around in it.

Who, me?
