Warm-Up Poppies

I decided I’d put some poppies in the sketchbook before I try to put them in a pastel. When I finish my latest landscape, I’ll be drawing them in freehand. I thought a little warm-up exercise certainly couldn’t hurt, and this gives me a better idea of the shape of the blooms. I’d forgotten all about their funny little seed pods.
