Long Time, No Post

Hi all. I’ve been working on some projects that allow me to sit down these last few weeks as it seems that broken toes take a while to heal. I took the splint off too early a couple of times, which didn’t help.

I really can’t work sitting down when I’m using the pastels, and standing has been very irritating to the injury. It must be feeling better, because I did a pastel today.

Monets Lillies

Claude Monet is one of my favorite artists, and his garden was his source of inspiration. There was an incredible photo posted during one of the WDEs, and I’ve wanted to try it ever since. This isn’t the best photo, but I’m going to let this sit and gel a while before I do anything else to it.

I may just crop off some of the left bank, and make it square.

    Lisa,

    Welcome back! We missed you!

I love the blue in the water and the composition of this piece.

Hiya Meg! It was great to be able to stand on two for a change. This is the most annoyingly ridiculous injury I’ve ever had.

Those yummy blues and purples are from the Mount Vision pastel company. Sennelier is my favorite for greens and anything really, really dark.
