Monet’s Garden

Monet’s Garden
Soft Pastel, 12 x 16
Claude Monet was enamored with his garden, especially his waterlilies. This piece is a tribute to him, although it’s not very impressionistic looking.
I worked from a photo of the actual pond, which was from the June 22 WDE. I try to avoid pastels for WDE projects because of the two-hour time limit. I don’t work very fast as it is, and I often stop to *think* about what I’m doing.
I think I love Monet’s garden as much as he did. On my To-Do list: an artistic retreat to Giverny. I wonder if they’d let me stay at the house?

I really like this one Lisa!
It looks like one of those places that you could escape to for some peace and quiet…and no one would find you.
You could always ask if you could stay at the house, no harm in asking, right?
Thanks Rita! Wouldn’t it be great to have Monet’s garden all to yourself for a day? Renting it for a month would be even better!
I think it’s neat that the public even has access to it at all. Vive la France!
