Box Tops
Today, I’m working on box tops. No, not the cereal kind, the secret-project kind, and I could use another opinion. The sides of this box are done, but I can’t decide which of these tops would be better. Opinions, anyone?

I’ll be using black grout to finish the top of this little retro-chic trinket box. The sides don’t need it, and I’ll be using black paint on any unfinished edges before the whole thing gets sealed. So what do you think? Pink tiles, or black?!?
One nice thing I’ve noticed about taking a short break from pastels and doing some craft projects, is that my pastels seem to get better every time I go back to them (knock wood). The pressure to do better seems to dissipate, and I can enjoy myself for a little while. Then they go to straight to **** in a hand basket.
One of these days, I’m going to get it right. I’ll be able to keep it to two or three layers, and all my colors will sing in harmony. I’ve heard that pastels are a very forgiving medium. For now, they just keep forgiving me for getting them out of the box.

I like the all black box, but maybe do a combination of the 2 colours? Alternate black and pink??
I’ll second the vote for the black box top, it seems more stylish. The black tiles might also look better if you’re using a black grout to finish it off.
Neat idea, btw!
How neat! I like them both although, if I had to choose I would probably pick the second one.
How creative you are! I think it’s just a natural artist thing to put pressure on ourselves. I have to remind myself all the time of why I do art in the first place: because I love it! When I worry and pick at things, I stop enjoying it. It’s a constant struggle for me too.
:)
I’m going to disagree with everyone and vote for the pink tiles! I like how they compliment the roses in the middle. It just looks cheerier & warmer. The black tiles *are* more stylish, though. Depends on the look you want.
