Weekend Update

Another week has come and gone, and my contractor is still tied up at his other job. He finds the most creative ways of avoiding my honeydew list, doesn’t he? He managed to squeak in a little time for my cabinets yesterday, which I gleefully traded for a haircut. I like to think I’m as creative as he is.

Sturdy looking, isn’t it? Being married to an iron worker, everything built here is made to withstand convention traffic. A little overkill perhaps, but I never worry about anything falling apart, either.

That’s a fantastic sketch, Lisa! I’m sure you’ll be happy when you finally have your studio to work out of.
Your husband and mine must have known eachother in a former life since, like yours, mine builds things to withstand a nuclear holocaust.

Overkill? You bet, but you’re right in that it’s better than having to repair it in 5 years or so. :D

Thanks Rita! It’s comforting to live in a structurally sound environment, isn’t it? Current housing trends in the US seem to encourage compressed paper covered by aluminum siding, and at very inflated prices!

So far, every house I’ve owned has gotten fixed up prior to it’s sale. This time, I’m determined to enjoy the upgrades long before it’s sold. Wish me luck on that one. :D

    Yay, a train!

Looks like everything is progressing well. Good luck getting it all finished!

Thanks Meg! I love trains. I haven’t been on one in years, but I think one of those weekend murder mystery train rides would be awesome.

It’s getting there. Slowly. Veeery slowly. :(
