Swamped

Mountain Laurel
Mountain Laurel thrives on steep hills.

Yep. That’s what I’ve been… swamped! We also took a break and went to the swamp down near the in-laws. The pretty pink flowers are Mountain Laurel. They have a fairly long blooming period, and we’re going to try to get back down there next weekend - early - so I can get pictures of eagles.

We also saw one of these… hubby calls them Johnny Cranes. I think it’s a Blue Heron.

I ran out of a couple of necessary art items, but they’ve been ordered and soon, you’ll get to see what had me swamped. Don’t you just love a mystery?

After that, I’ll be back to the alphabet!

Lisa, what beautiful scenery! Has it inspired you to do any landscapes?

Hi Meg! I’ve been mulling an *idea* for this place for quite a while. It’s a HUGE swamp, and (my) pictures don’t really reflect the steepness of those hills or the abundance of the Laurel, which is what I’d like to capture.

It’s so easy to sit down there for hours & just watch critters. The herons get spooked really easily, the eagles see us coming before we get there, but the beavers seem rather friendly!
